Pakistan cricket board to allow families after World Cup match against India

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed its players to have their families with them during the World Cup in England but only after the match against India is over. According to a PCB official, the players wanted their families in England after their match against Australia but PCB denied.

PCB took the decision after looking at other teams. But it is believed that the board did not want to take any chance against their arch-rival India as the players might be distracted with their wives and children staying in team hotel.

Pakistan lost the warm-up match against Afghanistan by 3 wickets on May 24. History was created as Afghanistan for the first time won a first 50-over game against Pakistan. This was the 10th consecutive match that Pakistan lost before the World Cup. Australia defeated the men in green 5-0 in an ODI series played in UAE, while England won an ODI series by 4-0 against Pakistan before the warm-up games.

Pakistan will be going as one of the favorites into the World Cup along with host Pakistan, their arch-rival India and Australia. Pakistan will play their first World Cup match against West Indies on May 31.
