Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur wanted to commit suicide after India loss

Pakistan cricket team faced a lot of criticism after their defeat to India in World Cup 2019. Some of their fans even asked the players to quit cricket after their humiliating loss against India. Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur recently said that he wanted to commit suicide after India game.

Arthur also added that the players were very hurt after the media and fans scrutiny. “The guys didn't sleep much. It's a World Cup. Media scrutiny, public expectations and then you almost go into survival mode.” The coach, however, said that the win against South Africa came as a huge boost and the confidence in the team is back.

Pakistan defeated South Africa by 49 runs at Lord’s on Sunday. Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision didn’t backfire as top order batsmen contributed with Babar Azam scoring 69 and Haris Sohail 89. Haris Sohail was included in the team in place of veteran Shoaib Malik.

Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman scored 44 runs each while Mohammad Hafeez and Imad Wasim scored 20 and 23 runs respectively.

Pakistan bowlers put up a great show in the second innings as they took wickets in the middle overs as well. The fielding of the team was also up to the mark to some extent despite two drop catches.
