MS Dhoni to make his comeback for ODIs against Australia and New Zealand; BCCI to announce the team shortly
Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to make his comeback for the ODI series against Australia and New Zealand. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce the squad in the next 24 hours. The expected squad for the ODI series will mostly be the side that India would field in the 2019 World Cup that is to be held in England.
Dhoni last played an international match against the Windies in late October this year and his performance with bat has been a big concern for India. In his last seven ODI matches, Dhoni recorded scores of 23, 7, 20, 36, 8, 33, 0.
The wicket-keeper batsman was also left out from the T20 squad that played three matches against Australia and leveled the series by 1-1. BCCI defended its move of not playing Dhoni in T20Is as they wanted to try youngster Rishabh Pant, who is also a wicket-keeper batsman.

The third Test or the Boxing Day Test will be played from December 26-30 in Melbourne Cricket Ground. Virat Kohli and Tim Paine will lead their respective sides.
The host and the visitors will also play a three match ODI series against each other starting from January 12 to January 18.
