MS Dhoni moves Supreme Court to recover Rs 40 crore from Amrapali group
Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni moves to Supreme Court seeking intervention in recovery of Rs 40 crore from Amrapali group for using his services for branding and marketing. Dhoni became the brand ambassador of the group in 2009 and quit in 2016 after facing a lot of criticism.
The real estate group is already facing charges for duping 46,000 home-buyers and the Supreme Court allowed the arrest of Amrapali group chairman and managing director Anil Kumar Sharma and as well as other two directors, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar by Delhi Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) in an alleged criminal case involving cheating.
As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, he is currently leading Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and have won both the matches the team has played. Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first home match and beat Delhi Capitals in their first away match to take the top spot at the points table.
Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets and MS Dhoni played a crucial part in the win. Dhoni remained unbeaten to take CSK to the finishing lines with his 35-ball 32 runs knock which included 2 fours and 1 six. Dwayne Bravo also played an important part as he took 3 wickets from the four overs he bowled. Shane Watson was awarded the man of the match trophy for his 26-ball 44 runs knock.
