Meet this Indian cricketer who is deaf in one ear and plays efficient cricket
All-rounder Washington Sundar, who has been included in the Indian team for the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka, thanked his father and former coaches for making his cricket career successful. Sundar, despite its weakness, has made his way for team India.
Now it has been revealed that Sundar cannot hear with his one ear. When he was 4-5 years old, he told his parents about this weakness. After that they took him to the doctor, but nothing happened. But he played against his weakness and has became part of the Indian team in the T20 series to be played against Sri Lanka.
Batting with the right hand and bowling right-handed off spin, he was included in the Indian Premier League (IPL-10) earlier this year, replacing injured Ravichandran Ashwin in the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and since then he is performing consistently good. Washington said, “It is a dream to be part of the Indian team. My father (beautiful) and former coaches played a big role in increasing my career as a cricketer.”
Sundar also performs excellent batting alongside with his efficient bowling. He was one of the most efficient spin bowlers in IPL this year, he had scored 4 consecutive half-centuries in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2016 and was one of the players who scored the most runs in this tournament.
