Kolkata: Sir Bradman's bat enhancing the glory of this sports museum

The legendary batsman Sir Donald George Bradman of Australian team often referred to as 'The Don' is widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. The Fanatic Sports Museum, located in Newtown Eco Space, has received a precious gift in the form of the bat of the great batsman Sir Don Bradman.

According to the source, this was the same bat that Bradman used in the first Test series between India and Australia in 1947-48. That was the first Australian tour of the Indian cricket team.

The 5 days test match series was won by the hosts by 4-0. Now people would have an opportunity to remind that historic moment in the fanatic sports museum.

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke, former Australian batsman Brad Hogg, former Indian wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta, Indian woman fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, Dr. Boria Mazumdar, founder of the museum, and other people were present on the occasion to dedicate Bradman's bat to the museum.

Clark presented the bat to the museum on behalf of Nikhil Daftary, collector of well-known sports goods from Melbourne.

It is known that Sachin Tendulkar's 100th test match gloves, bat, sweater and jersey and badminton player PV Sindhu's jersey which she wore while winning the medal in Rio Olympics are also present at the museum.
