India vs Sri Lanka: First Test in danger as clouds hover over Eden Gardens

The first match of the Test series between India and Sri Lanka will be played from 16th November at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.

But there is bad indication before the starting of the match as there is possibility of rain. Meteorological Department has warned that the rain could continue till November 18.

An official of the Meteorological Department said there will be light rain for the next two days. Only then weather will be clean. In such a scenario, both teams of India and Sri Lanka could not make it to the ground for practice. Indian skipper Virat Kohli had practiced on the nets for a long time on Tuesday.

But on Wednesday, the rain couldn't let the players practice. If there is rain on Thursday morning then there are chances that match will be played with less overs. The first match will begin from 10 am on Thursday.

At the moment, due to rain, the practice of the team has been canceled and team has been advised to stay in the hotel. Earlier, in August, India had won 9-0 in the three formats against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka's record at Eden Gardens Stadium has not been particularly good as from the last 35 years they have not won a single match in 16 matches played at Eden.
