Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami has completed his 100 wicket in Test cricket, and he is the 182th in the world and 21st bowler of India.
Shami achieved this feat by catching Keshav Maharaj by wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel during the second Test against South Africa. The 27-year-old Shami, playing his 29th Test match, is the seventh Indian fast bowler to take 100 Test wickets.
In the list of Indian fast bowlers, Kapil Dev (25) and Irfan Pathan (28) are the other bowlers who have taken 100 wickets in the lowest number of matches, Shami has moved to number three.
According to the agency, in addition to these three, fast bowlers taking 100 or more wickets from India include Karsan GhavriJavagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma.
Shami was the last Indian fast bowler to be included in this list, who had achieved this feat in Bridgetown against West Indies in 2011.
Shami is the 109th fastest bowler to reach this milestone. Shami has so far taken 62 wickets in 19 matches and 38 wickets in ten matches abroad.
