Ind vs SA: MS Dhoni picks 134th catch in his 275th T20 match; another record to his credit
Indian cricket team's former skipper MS Dhoni broke another record in the T20I match between India and South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.
Being one of the best wicket-keeper, Dhoni has registered his name for taking a 134th catch in his 275th T20 match. Dhoni caught Reeza Hendricks off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Now, Dhoni has replaced Sri Lankan player Kumar Sangakkara, who had 133 catches in 254 matches. India's player Dinesh Karthik is on the third position for taking 123 catches in 277 games, followed by Pakistan's Kamran Akmal with 115 catches in 211 T20s and on the fifth rank is Denesh Ramdin, West Indian player who has taken 108 catches in 168 T20s.
India's former skipper MS Dhoni aka 'Captain Cool' is already on the leading position of wicketkeepers with most dismissals in T20 internationals with overall 77 (included 48 catches and 29 stumpings) in 87 games.
South Africa's former player great Mark Boucher also has the record of 952 grabs in 467 matches and after him, Australia's Adam Gilchrist holding a record of 813 catches in 396 games.
However, on 18 February, India won the match and became the first team to win the match at Johannesburg after batting first in T20 Internationals.
The second T20 International will be played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday (February 21).
