Ind vs Aus: We have won world, Ashes but defeating India will be our biggest accomplishment, Says, Australian coach Langer

Justin Langer is a busy man. He happens to be the coach of the Australian Cricket Team and he has more responsibilities than he can imagine. He has been recently appointed for the post after the previous coach Darren Lehmann resigned following the infamous ball-tampering scandal involving the top leadership of the team, that hit former skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, the incident came as a major blow for the team and took the world cricket with a blow.

The man has a lot of targets to accomplish, the upcoming world cup in 2019 and the T20 world as well, to name a few but what strikes him the most is the upcoming Indian tour of Australia. The coach wants to make sure that Australia wins.

"We've got a World Cup, a T20 World Cup, a couple of Ashes (in 2019 and 2021-22) - I get nervous when I start thinking about it. There are some big tournaments coming up," Langer told media persons.

"But ultimately, if I fast forward it, the Indian Test tour in about three or four years' time (2021), to me that's the ultimate. We will judge ourselves on whether we're a great cricket team if we beat India in India," the former Australian opener declared.

Langer believes that the epitome of Australian cricket was in the year 2004 when they beat India in India. He said "I look back on my career, the Mount Everest moment was 2004, when we finally beat India in India. We've got to get better at playing overseas, we become a great team if we win overseas and at home so that will be something for us to aspire to."

The coach also admitted that the absence of ex-skipper Steve Smith and David Warner will be felt as Australia get ready to host a number of countries including India.

"It's hard to replace their runs and their experience," Langer said.
