The skipper of team India, Virat Kohli who hit the century in the second ODI against Australia said that he wanted to give the bowl to Vijay Shankar in 46th over, but former captain MS Dhoni and vice-captain Rohit Sharma stopped him to do that. Man of the Match, Virat Kohli hit a century with 116 runs on 120 balls and death over bowling of team India assured the second win in the series. Team India won this match won 8 runs and Vijay Shankar took two wickets in his three balls of last over.
"I was thinking about the 46th over (to go with Kedar/Shankar). I was talking with both of them (Rohit and Dhoni). If they (Bumrah and Shami) take wickets, we'll be right in the game and that's exactly what happened," Virat Kohli said in the post-match presentation.
Let us tell you that Jasprit Bumrah too two wickets in the 46th over, in the second bowl of the over he got Nathan Coulter-Nile's wicket (4) and Patt Commins (0) on the fourth bowl. Suddenly, Australia got a shock with loosing two back to back wickets and their score reached to 223/8.
Virat Kohli also praised Jasprit Bumrah for his nail-biting bowling performance and said, “Jasprit Bumrah is a champion, two wickets in an over just turned the game for us. I am really happy that he is on our side.”
