Ind vs Aus: Australian commentator 'insults' Mayank Agarwal, passes racist remark against Ranji Trophy
Former Australian cricketer turned commentator Kerry O’Keefe passed a racist comment against Mayank Agarwal and Indian domestic first-class cricket tournament Ranji Trophy. Keefe was doing commentary with Australian spin legend Shane Warne during the Third Test match in Melbourne Cricket Ground.
O’Keefe questioned the quality of Ranji Trophy in which Mayank Agarwal scored a triple-century in November last year. Agarwal scored 304* in Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra, which is the highest first class score till date.
O’Keefe while doing commentary said, Mayank Agarwal may have scored 304 runs against ‘some canteen staff or waiters.’ O’Keefe played 24 Tests for Australia between 1971 to 1977 taking 53 wickets, he was a leg-spinner by trade.
Mayank Agarwal made an impressive 76 runs on debut against Australia in MCG on Wednesday.
