IND Vs AFG: Ashwin surpasses Zaheer Khan's record to become 4th highest wicket-taker in Tests for India
In the holy month of Ramadan, under the leadership of Virat Kohli’s deputy Ajinkya Rahane, India locked the horns with Afghanistan in the historic one-off Test match at Bengaluru.
Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin surpasses the record of former Indian Pacer Zaheer Khan after dismissing Afghanistan skipper Asghar Stanikzai during the ongoing one-off historic Test match between India and Pakistan at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Ashiwn with his 312th scalp took the 4th spot in the list of highest wicket-takers in Test cricket. Ashwin has time and again proved his wicket-taking abilities in Test cricket and is also the fastest to the twin milestones of 250 & 300 Test wickets respectively.
Indian pacers thrashed the batting line-up of Afghanistan squad. Afghanistan Juggernaut's have been bowled out inside a session. They managed to score 109 runs with all wickets down. Yamin Ahmadzai became the first bowler to bowl for Afghanistan in Test cricket after India won the toss.
Afghanistan Juggernaut's batted 27.5 overs in their first innings - the least by a team in their country's inaugural Test in an innings. The previous record was held by Bangladesh (46.3 overs in 2nd innings).
