CWC 2019: Why Sarfaraz Ahmed didn't take Imran Khan's winning tips

Pakistan and India played their high intensity match on Sunday at Old Tafford cricket ground, where India emerged victorious. After the match was over Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was taken by storm on social media after he did not listen to the advise of Prime Minister Imran Khan, which was to bat first after if the won the toss.

Ahead of the game, Imran Khan Tweeted: "Today, given the intensity of the match, both teams will come under great mental pressure and the power of the mind will decide the outcome of the match. In Sarfaraz we are fortunate to have a bold captain & today he will have to be at his daring best.”

"In order to have a winning offensive strategy Sarfaraz must go in with specialist batsmen and bowlers because "Raillu Kattas" rarely perform under pressure -- especially the intense kind that will be generated today. Unless pitch is damp, Sarfaraz must win the toss & bat," Imran added.

But it appears that Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t pay much attention to the tweets as he won the toss and decided to field first.

Imran Khan, who led Pakistan to their only World Cup triumph in 1992, was proven right after the men in blue put up a huge score of 336/5, with Rohit Sharma’s scintillating innings of 140 runs and Kohli’s 77.

Raging Pakistani fans on social media felt Sarfaraz should have listened to the legendary all rounder because besides Mohammad Amir, all the bowlers were expensive. Pakistan did manage to check the run flow in the last five overs but it was too late by then.

India still retains the win record against Pakistan in the World Cup.
