Harmanpreet Kaur is a cheat, liar, manipulative, undeseving captain says Mithali Raj' manager

Current Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's decision to bench former captain Mithali Raj in ICC Women's T20 World Cup semi-final against England on Friday seemed to have backfired when the Indian side went down by eight wickets.

The news of Raj's omission did not go down well with the cricket fraternity and Mithali's manager Annisha Gupta. Annisha slammed out at Kaur and the Indian management on Twitter.

Soon after India were knocked out of the Women's World T20, Annisha tweeted, "unfortunately @BCCIWomen believes in politics not sport. After witnessing what @M_Raj03 experience could do in IND vs IRE it's shocking that they went with what pleases @ImHarmanpreet - a manipulative, lying, immature, undeserving captain".

In another tweet, she called Kaur a “manipulative, lying, cheat”.

In another interview to ESPNcricinfo she said and I quote, "I'd like to say that I don't know what is going on the inside but now that the matches are being telecast, we can see who is performing and who is not".

Sanjay Manjrekar also criticised the decision of dropping Mithali Raj from the team, Manjrekar tweeted, "India paid the price for two mistakes. One in planning, by dropping Mithali on this pitch. The other in execution, by rushing down the pitch to muscle the ball in front of the pitch on a very slow pitch".

Manjrekar also tweeted, "It’s not a pitch where you can hit through the line and fetch boundaries. Mithali Raj would have been ideal on this pitch. Wrong move by India to drop Mithali. But India still good enough to beat ENG".

Mithali Raj has the experience of 85 ODIs which fetched her 2283 runs at 37.42 with 17 fifties, she scored 56 and 51 in India’s wins over Pakistan Women and Ireland Women before she was rested for the last league match against Australia Women, which India won by 48 runs to top their group. She is also India’s all-time leading run-scorer in T20Is.

India lost to England in the semi-finals of ICC Women's T20 World Cup by 8 wickets, they also lost to England in the final of Asia Cup T20 this year and in the finals of ICC World Cup in England last year.
