Suresh Raina is one of the best left-handed batsman to play for India. He made his debut for the Indian national team on July 30, 2005 against Sri Lanka. Raina was also part of the World Cup winning team in 2011.
Suresh Raina also made his Test debut against Sri Lanka five years later in 2010, and he is one of the few batsman to score a Test century on his debut.
Suresh Raina was signed by Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural season of the tournament and he made a mark by contributing through runs. Suresh Raina became the all time leading run-getter of the league in 2010 surpassing Australian great Adam Gilchrist.
Raina also holds the record for making seven consecutive 400 plus runs in IPL and taking the most number of catches, 86 to be precise which is still unbroken. Raina also has a 100 under his name in IPL.
Suresh Raina also holds the record of first Indian to score 100 sixes and second in the world in Indian Premiere League. Raina is the first player to score 3000 runs in the IPL.
Suresh Raina have played 223 ODIs for India scoring 5,568 runs at an average of 35.46 with a top score of 116 not out. Raina have played 176 IPL matches scoring a blistering 4,985 runs at an average of 34.37 with a top score of 100 not out.
