Former England captain trolls Virat Kohli after India's loss against New Zealand
New Zealand beat India by 18 runs in the first semi-final of World Cup 2019 to reach in their second consecutive final of World Cup. Former England captain Michael Vaughan trolled the Indian skipper Virat Kohli after the loss as he shared the morphed picture of Kohli holding a boarding pass.
Vaughan shared the same picture which the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared before the start of the World Cup. The ICC faced a lot of criticism for sharing the picture back then as people accused the apex body of biasedness.
India lost after they lost their top three batsmen early in the game. The powerful trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were dismissed for 1 run each. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya were looking good to settle but both of them lost their wicket on 32 runs each.
Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni notched up a pretty good partnership as they took India from 92-6 to 208-7 before Jadeja was dismissed by Trent Boult while trying to play a big shot. Jadeja scored 77 runs for his team at a crucial moment but it all went in vain. MS Dhoni was dismissed run-out by Martin Guptill for 50 runs and the hopes of India also shattered with that dismissal.
