English cricketer cites 'personal difference' with Virat Kohli is reason behind R Ashwin's exclusion
Exclusion of Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin from the Test team has not gone down well amongst cricket fans and experts. Former cricketers including Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar are questioning Ashwin’s exclusion from the team.
Former English cricketer Nick Compton has now taken to his official Twitter handle to cite a personal difference between Virat Kohli and Ashwin is the reason behind his exclusion. However, it is to be noted that he has not given any solid proof to back his sensational claim.
When a cricket presenter named Raunak Kapoor posted, “Worst possible start to India’s WTC. 3 down in quick time including Kohli & Pujara. Mayank got a good one. Pujara uncharacteristic, Kohli still in one-day mode. Didn’t like the call to drop Ashwin, but the extra batsman choice looking good now.” Compton commented, “What is going on with Ashwin... clearly a personal difference between him and Kohli?”
Raunak Kapoor replied, “There are supposedly personal differences with Rohit as well Nick! Not sure how many players a captain will have to go through to get an XI with just guys he gets along with! And perhaps just 3 left handers in WI XI make a case for Jadeja as lone spinner, but I’m with you..”
After India’s unfortunate exit from ICC Cricket World Cup this year, rumours were doing rounds about a rift between captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma. It was being said that the team is divided into two groups and nothing is well between the top two players in the world.
