Delhi Capitals to replace some key players in IPL 2019, trials in Kolkata
The Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals are looking for a couple of replacements. According to a news website, Delhi Capitals are looking to replace some of the key players from their squad. According to the website, the injured players are Indians and the trials for replacement to be held in Kolkata.
As many players of India’s World Cup interest are in Delhi Capitals, inquiries were made and it emerged that they are not the players who are injured. Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are some of the players whom BCCI would want fit before the World Cup.
It is speculated that Harshal Patel and Rahul Tewatia are the players that team management are looking to replace. Patel, a 28-year old medium pacer from Gujarat was bought for Rs 20 Lakhs. Patel had previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rahul Tewatia, a 25-year old all-rounder was bought for Rs 3 crores from Rajasthan Royals.
A Delhi Capitals official confirmed that the trials will be conducted in Kolkata, he however refused to comment on the injured players and the probables who have been called in. Delhi’s think-tank including advisor Sourav Ganguly along with coach Ricky Ponting will take trials.
Delhi Capitals will play their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 12. Capitals are currently sitting at number six on the points table. They have played six matches so far and have lost three of them. Capitals are behind Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians but all of them have six points each. The only difference in their rankings are their net run rate.
