Big Blow! Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma ruled out of New Zealand tour due to injury
The men in blue is set the miss the service of Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Ishant Sharma for the forthcoming series against New Zealand starting on 24th January.
Shikhar Dhawan picked up a shoulder injury while fielding in the final ODI match against the Aussies in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He had dived to save a shot by Aaron Finch, injuring his shoulder in the process.
"Yes, he has been ruled out of the T20 series. A replacement will be announced soon" a BCCI official told PTI.

The 34-year-old was taken for an x-ray after he picked up an injury during the match. Dhawan was seen wearing a sling on his left hand.
Concurrently, Ishant Sharma will also be missing the two match Test series in New Zealand after the latter picked up an ankle injury during a Ranji game, a Delhi state cricket association official said.
Ishant, while playing for Delhi, had twisted his ankle on his follow through while bowling against Vidarbha.
"Ishant Sharma's MRI report shows a Grade 3 ankle tear and it is serious. He has been advised six weeks of rest and rehabilitation. It is indeed a big blow," DDCA general secretary Vinod Tihara told PTI.
Nevertheless, the BCCI is yet to issue an official statement on Ishant’s injury.
The Test series against the Kiwi’s is slated to take place from 21st February.
