Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who performed brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup-2018, has already grabbed headlines. Kamlesh was also bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping amount of 3.2 crores in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. His father and elder brother have made a big contribution in making him a cricketer. Kamlesh's father is the retired officer of the Indian Army, he and his elder son bought a room apartment in Jaipur to spend money for Kamlesh so that the son could play cricket. The young lad, who is considered India's fastest bowler, bowling at a speed of 146.9 km.
Kamlesh coach Surendra Singh Rathore had laid down the condition that when Kamlesh will be involved in U-19, he will get him an iPhone. Kamlesh's selection was done but the coach's promise was not fulfilled. After this, Kamlesh won the Junior Challenger Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, Rajasthan Senior Team but could not win the iPhone. However, Kamlesh has got so much money in the IPL auction that he can definitely fulfill his wishes. He explains that all his colleagues already have an iPhone.
Kamlesh was extremely nervous during the auction. The U-19 sensation said in an interview to espncricinfo, “Andar se thoda nervous tha mai (I was a little nervous from within). My friends kept calling non-stop, but I didn’t pick up the phone. I didn’t watch my bidding. When my room partner Pankaj Yadav turned on the live stream, I couldn’t take it. I said ‘yaar, main jaa raha hoon (mate, I’m off). I went and sat inside the washroom even as my bidding kept going on.”
