Amitabh Bachchan recreates famous dialogue from 'Amar Akbar Anthony' after Virat Kohli led India to victory over WI

Indian skipper Virat Kohli pulled out a batting masterclass to take aback the West Indies and refuse the visitors a victory in the first T20I of the three match series in Hyderabad on Friday.

The 31-year-old knocked an unbeaten 94 runs of just 50 deliveries as the men in blue chased down the target set by the Windies with six wickets remaining. During the outstanding innings, the Indian skipper even went on to taunt Kesrick Williams by emulating his notebook celebration after smashing him for a maximum.

In response to Virat Kohli’s match winning knock and his mock celebration, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan to to his official twitter handle to re-enact his famous dialogue from the movie ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.

The Indian skipper expressed his thanks to the Bollywood star for his post, stating that the legendary actor was always an inspiration.

However, it was not a walk in the park for team India in the series opener. India had won the toss and decided to bowl first. The host instantly made an impact with Deepak Chahar striking in the second over to send Lendl Simmions back to the pavilion.

Evin Lewis (40) and Brandon King (31) stabilized the ship and sailed the visiting team on their way all thanks to some clean hitting. Shimron Hetmyer knocked 56 of 41 deliveries while skipper Kieron Pollard smashed 37 of just 19 deliveries.

Jason Holder also came in and knocked an unbeaten 24 off just 9 deliveries to guide the West Indies past 200 runs mark.

With that being said, Indian bowlers were not helped by the fielders as they dropped catches, which was costly for India.

India got off to a very poor start as Rohit Sharma (8) recorded an infrequent failure. But KL Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli put together a 100 run stand for the second wicket to keep India in the game.

KL Rahul knocked 62 runs off 40 deliveries to stake his claim for the opening slot. However, after Rahul’s dismissal, India lost Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer cheaply and it was all on Virat Kohli’s shoulders to get India across the finishing line.

The Indian captain rose to the challenge, like he always does and smashed six fours and as many sixes to register his career best T20I score and give India a 1-0 series lead.
