After Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli will be on display at Madame Tussauds in London

Madame Tussauds today unveiled the statue of Indian captain Virat Kohli at the Lord’s stadium in London before the first World Cup match between England and South Africa. The wax statue will be on display at the world famous Madame Tussauds from May 30 until July 15, during the duration of the World Cup.

“Cricket fever is set to sweep the nation in the coming weeks so what better way to unveil our new figure of Virat Kohli than with the help of our neighbours at Lord's. We hope that cricket fans will enjoy not only watching their hero on the pitch but taking to the crease with him here at Madame Tussauds London,” Steve Davies, Manager at Madame Tussauds was quoted as saying.

Virat Kohli will be the second Indian cricketer to feature in the museum after the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s statue was installed in 2009. Virat Kohli will share space with legends like Usain Bolt, Sir Mo Farah.

Virat Kohli will lead the Indian team in World Cup 2019 as they will start their campaign against South Africa on June 5. India will play Australia and New Zealand before meeting Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford, London.
