Lumpy Skin Disease: Milk economy affected in Rajasthan; production down by 21%

The production of milk in Rajasthan state has begun to suffer as a result of the increase in cases of lumpy skin disease. The milk collection has witnessed a decline of over 21 percent in the month of August.

According to a senior officer of Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), the outbreak of the dreadful disease has impacted milk production in the state. He added that the collection of milk production has been reduced by 5–6 lakh litres per day.

The RCDF has made active attempts to increase the milk collection, so the decreased collection hasn't had an impact on the milk supply-demand ratio.
