The country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has released a warning for its customers against charging their phones at the charging station.
The bank has released advise that thinks twice before plugging-in your smartphone at charging stations as malware could affect the phone because hackers have found another way to steal the personal data from the smartphone.
"Think twice before you plug in your phone at charging stations. Malware could find a way in and infect your phone, giving hackers a way to steal your passwords and export your data," SBI tweeted.
The bank recommended people not to use free phone charging station as malware could infect their smartphone.
Hackers are using the juice jacking technique, a USB charger scam that would not only steal your data but also end up draining your bank account.

1. Carry your own charging cables.
2. Charge your phone through an electrical outlet.
3. Look only for the electrical socket behind the charging station.
4. Carry your own power bank to charge your drained battery.
