After that, Delhi Daredevils from where Gautam Gambhir started his IPL journey took back him in the squad. He again became the skipper of Delhi Daredevils but as a team, DD performed really worst and they lost the tournament.
As the resulted, Gautam Gambhir had to left the captaincy just after few matches in IPL. Even the co-player from KKR team, Robin Uthappa shared an emotional message, "gotta say.. I don't like retirements.. especially of people that I admire deeply. Congratulations @GautamGambhir on an amazing career. I'm grateful for all that we shared on and off the field. It's been an honour skip. My best wishes on ur second innings."
