When Shah Rukh Khan removed Aishwarya Rai from his films without giving any reason
There was a time when Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Jodi was one of the top on-screen Jodis. They first appeared together on Josh (2000) and then followed by Devdas, Mohabbatein amongst others. However, their fans didn’t continue to see them together in other films after things went upside down between them.
It was back in the 2000s when SRK allegedly removed Aishwarya from his films. There were around five films from which King Khan removed Aishwarya, including Veer-Zaara.
The shocking part behind all this fuss that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t give any explanation about the same. According to KoiMoi, the actress opened up all about it in a conversation with Simi Garewal’s popular show Rendezvous.
On asking about the entire misfortune, Aishwarya said, “How can I have the answer to that? Yes, at the time, there was some films were in pipeline that we would be working in together. And then, suddenly all were cancelled, without any explanation whatsoever. I have never had the answer to why.”
Simi asked Aishwarya about how she felt about being removed from big 5 projects, she answered, “See, at the time, when you have no explanation, you’re obviously completely taken aback, and surprised, and hurt. You wonder about it.”
When asked if she ever questioned SRK about why he removed her without giving any reason then the actress answered, “It’s not in my nature to. If a person feels a need to explain it, they will. If they never did, they never intend to." She further said that it's not in her nature to question anyone which they want to tell. Probably within myself, but I wouldn’t go up to a person and ask why. By the grace of God, I’m not defined by the other.”
A few years back, SRK also admitted his mistake in a 2003 interview with India Today. He also apologized to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the same. SRK also said, “To start a project with someone and then change her for no fault of hers is very difficult. It is very sad as Ash is a good friend. Personally, I think I did wrong. But as a producer it made sense. I apologised to Ash.”
