We have to give audiences a reason to come to cinemas: Siddharth Roy Kapur
Siddharth Roy Kapur recently talked about the changing economics of filmmaking in India at the Jio Mami Festival.
Talking about the same, Siddharth said, "We have to give audiences a reason to come to the cinema. Either present them with a film like 'Baahubali' or a must watch in theatres like 'Dangal'. Or alternatively, deliver them with films that garner strong positive word of mouth, that would draw audiences to theatres. Then there are films like Pink, Neerja, and Kaahani, that in spite of being easily available on DVD's and online pull viewers to cinema halls owing to the post-release buzz. I think it's very important to create that type of cinema. A film today has to be great, being sweet and nice is not enough to draw footfalls."
On the film front, he is known for his work as a producer for films like Dangal, Jagga Jasoos, Barfi, Rang De Basanti to name a few.
