This is the reason why Akshay Kumar replaced Sunny Deol in YRF's Prithviraj Chauhan's biopic
Recently there were the reports that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is all set to reunite with Yash Raj FIlms after a long break of 10 years. He is going to star in a period drama film of Yash Raj Films but there is no confirmation has happened yet.
Reports are suggesting that the film will be a biopic on king Prithviraj Chauhan and it will be directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is famous for playing and making series on Chanakya. The film will be a high budget period drama and Akshay is being considered to play the Rajput warrior from the 12th century in the film.
Now, this has surely excited Akshay Kumar fans that the actor is doing a period action drama that too on the warrior Prithviraj Chauhan. However, only a few people know that actually, it was Sunny Deol, not Akshay who was earlier being considered to play the leading role but as soon as Yash Raj Films entered in the project, Sunny Deol has been dropped out of the project.

Filmfare quoted Sunny Deol by saying “Yes, I was working on that idea but unfortunately, I’m not part of that film now (Laughs). It’s the same story which I had worked on with Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi. I feel very happy because I want that film to be made. I want Dr saab to make a film of that genre because he is an ideal person for it and he has got everything with him. Main nahin hun to chalta hai, koi aur kar raha hai. Kam se kam vo film ban rahi hai. It’s very important.”
Sunny Deol also took dig at YRF when he was asked to have the makers replaced him because he wouldn't be possible to justify the period roles. YPD actor said, “I don’t think the makers feel that is the case otherwise they would have taken me (Laughs). It’s really something which one cannot talk about.”
