Thappad: After Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak Twitter boycotts Taapsee Pannu starrer

Taapsee Pannu’s starrer Thappad hit the headlines with its strong message, now as the film is gearing up to release tomorrow i.e on Friday the film has received flak. On Twitter, netizens are trending #BoycottThappad. Well, Taapsee stands at the second position in the list of boycotting the film after Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak.

This boycott has come immediately after actress’ participation in an anti-CAA rally that took place at Carter Road in Mumbai. Not just Taapsee even Anurag Kashyap, Dia Mirza, Zoya Akhtar was also seen taking part in a non-violent protest opposing CAA. On the user in wake of boycotting Aubhav Sinha’s film wrote, “First Deepika now Taapsee, Bollywood repeat it again. They use national issues for the promotion of their movies. They have to understand the sensitivity of the issue.#ShameOnBollywood #boycottthappad”

Another Twitter users wrote, “If you all boycotted @deepikapadukone #Chappak for her JNU presence then you have one more coming BOYCOTT, now SHE WAS THERE TOO AND SHE IS WAY MORE ANTI NATIONAL so I will and i hope you will Fold hands #boycottthappad She deserves it and her team too👎🏽”
