When asked on her opinion towards filmmaking ruled by men and challenges faced by female directors to mark their place in the industry, to this she said, “industry does not operate in seclusion or isolation. A woman who is coming to the set is not just coming to the sets; she has a whole lot of life which is outside of the equally challenging film industry. The women that I have seen in the industry – the DoPs, the directors, the HoDs when they go back home, they also have to take care of their kids and the menu at the house.”

Talking about the challenge she added that women managing house front wholly should be changed. Even in a well-educated such set-up is their so Tahira thinks that there should be an equal amount of contribution from both men and women.

Talking about herself she said that she is directing in age or time where people are actually looking at scripts and talent and they are not thinking about their gender as such. Well, the lady is looking forward to the day when people stop saying “female director’ and “male director”. It should just be a director or a scriptwriter. But for that day to come, one needs enough women taking these positions.
