Sanjana Sanghi’s latest ad receives criticism online for 'promoting violence against men'; Pooja Bedi calls it ‘horrifying’

Dil Bechara fame Sanjana Sanghi has landed in controversy for her latest advertisement promoting an OTT platform. Social media users got irked with the advertisement concept.

In the advertisement, the actress who made her Bollywood debut with Dil Bechara film is seen slapping a boy eight times in order to decide which movie they should watch on OTT.

Later, Sanjana says that they will watch the eight-film on the list now.

However, the ad didn’t go down well with netizens, and started blaming her for promoting domestic violence against men.

Many people criticized the streaming app for showing such insensitive content.

The advertisement also sought the attention of Bollywood actress. She wrote on her Twitter account, “Absolutely HORRIFIED 2 watch this advt. Domestic violence against men is NOT acceptable. What if a man was slapping a woman in this advt? This should NEVER CLEAR an advertising board! #men have rights.”

 

On the other hand, netizens also slammed the ad-makers for promoting violence against men and also demanded to ban it.

One of the users said, “Imagine the guy slapping the girl to decide which tv show to watch.

Violence against men also is an offence!! @ascionline please take notice of this advertisement.”

Coming back to Sanjana Sanghi, the actress made her Bollywood debut this year. Notably, Dil Bechara was the last film of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was in the lead role.

On the work front, Sanjana will be seen opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor in Om: The Battle Within.
