Rishi Kapoor Death: Actor kept medical staff entertained till the last; family releases official statement
Today nation woke up to most depressing news of Rishi Kapoor’s demise. The actor breathed his last at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation in Mumbai while his wife actress Neetu Kapoor was by his side. The actor who was suffering from Leukemia died after a two-year battle with cancer. Amitabh Bachchan was the first one to announce such depressing news through his Twitter handle by writing “He is gone”.
Now, the legendary actor’s family has released an official statement in which they request his fans to mourn in harmony owing to the current situation i.e. Coronavirus in the country. As per the statement, the actor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am in hospital today. However, even being on death bed he never failed to impress the medical staff and kept them entertained to the last.
The statement continued that he remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through 2 years of his treatment across two continents. Even to the last family, friends, food and films remained his focus. He never let his illness get the better of him and during this time all those who met him were quite astonished to see him. Also, he was quite grateful for all the love he received from his fans all over the world.

The statement further read that in his passing fans and his loved ones have to understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with the tear. “In this hour of personal loss, we also recognise the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force. He would not have it any other way.
