Rhea Chakraborty responds to Bihar DGP's 'aukat' jibe

During an exclusive interview with India Today’s Rajdeep Sardesai, Rhea Chakraborty spoke about the Sushant Singh Rajput death case in a detailed degree. Inter alia, the actress also reacted to Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey’s comment in which he asked Rhea what is her aukat to question Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Without naming the police officer, Rhea clarified the as someone who loved Sushant, she can question even Bihar CM.

On 19th August, after the top court asked the CBI to take charge of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Bihar DGP, while speaking to the media, said, "Rhea Chakraborty ki koi aukat nahi ki woh Bihar ke Chief Minister se sawaal karein." Rhea Chakraborty during the latest interview responded to this and said, "Kisi ne mujhe meri aukat batai hai ki meri aukat kya hai. Meri aukat ye hai ki main Sushant se pyaar karti hu. (Someone reminded me of my aukat. He said what is my aukat? My aukat is that I loved Sushant)."

The actress further added, "Koi mujhe vishkanya kehta hai, kisine kaha main black magic karti hoon. Kyu? Just because I had a partner who suffered from mental illness and took him to the doctor and got professional help?"

The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty were live-in partners. The actress left the late actor's apartment on 8th June. A few days later, Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra home on 14th June. At first, Mumbai Police was looking into the case and declared it a suicide. On 25th July, the late actor’s father, KK Singh, lodged a complaint at Patna's Rajiv Nagar Police Station against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and others. On the basis of his complaint, an FIR was filed by the Bihar Police.

A team of Bihar Police officials reached Mumbai to investigate the case. IPS Vinay Tiwari, who came later, was quarantined by the BMC. The quarantining of the IPS officer criticized by many, including Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey.

The case which was earlier declared as suicide has now been handed over to the CBI. A Special Investigation Team of the CBI is currently in Mumbai investigating the case. The team has questioned multiple people vital to the case.
