Rakhi Sawant gives controversial statement on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s arrest by NCB
Bollywood actress and controversial queen Rakhi Sawant once again in limelight for her controversial statement that she passed on comedian Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s arrest by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Rakhi Sawant raised questions about why only artists are being caught in a drug case.
During the media interaction at the launch of her upcoming film, ‘Vinashak Kaal’, the actress said that she could not believe it after hearing the news of Bharti and Haarsh’s arrest by NCB. She said that Bharti is her close friend and the news of her arrest left her shocked.
Rakhi alleged that this drug incident is all part of a conspiracy and had someone has kept drugs at her home and then called the NCB.
Rakhi told the media that she wanted to know why only artists are caught. Why not the sons of ministers? She further asked that there are many others in the country or is it just artists who consume drugs? “Why is nobody else caught? I don’t get this funda,” Rakhi added.
"I cannot believe such a thing could happen with Bharti Singh. She’s India’s number 1 comedian and she’s respected. When I heard the news, I was shocked as Harsh and Bharti are my good friends. I think this is a conspiracy. Someone has kept it at their home and tipped off the officials," she added.
Bharti and Haarsh were arrested on November 21 by the NCB after a seizure of ganja (cannabis) from their house in suburban Andheri, Mumbai.
They were produced before the magistrate’s court on Sunday and were sent in judicial custody till December 4. However, Bharti and Haarsh were granted bail earlier this week on a bond of Rs 15,000 each.
As per the media report, NCB recovered 86.5 gm of ganja during the raid at Bharti and Haarsh’s residence and office.
The comedy queen and her husband were booked under NDPS Act Sections 20 (b) (ii) (A) (involves the small quantity of drugs), 8(c) (possession of drugs), and 27 (consumption of drugs).
