Mulk film

The film starts by narrating the life of Banaras and trying to understand the unity of two religions Hindu and Muslim. The film takes the first frame from Shahid Mohammad (Prateik Babbar) who is involving in the terrorist activities. Whether on the other hand, Murad Ali Mohammad (Rishi Kapoor) and his family preparing for the party of Murad's 65th birthday.

In between the daughter-in-law of the house comes Aarti Mohammad (Taapsee Pannu) who herself is facing trouble in her married life to decide the religion of her kids. The life of Mohammad family gets changed when their younger son Shahid Mohammad got recognized as a terrorist after some incidents and got encountered by SP Danish Javed (Rajat Kapoor). Then the story takes the form of its base to win the pride of the family back after being called a terrorist family.

DIRECTION

Mulk film

Anubhav Sinha who is known for making romantic and action films like Tum Bin, Ra.One, Dus, Cash and others this time tried to make a social drama film. Anubhav Sinha gets the right chord of the story he had a good concept but somehow he lost the path of the conclusion. He chose the right location, actors, script, and other things but it looks like that Anurag was so hurried in the making of this film that he ignored many little and but harsh things.

Anubhav Sinha made the first half of the film quite interesting and gripping but in the second half, he himself lost the path that where he is and what he wants to say through the film. Maybe he has the line ' it's all about us not us and them' for what he decided to end the film.

PERFORMANCES

Mulk film performance

Rishi Kapoor has the most strong and powerful character in the film and in any frame, you will not think twice that Rishi Kapoor is playing Murad Mohammad. Rishi Kapoor has just got the right note to play this character and there are some ups and downs but while seeing Rishi Kapoor's character you will get remembered of the head of your family and how he deals with the situations. Rishi Kapoor played Akbar, Rauf Lala, and now Murad Ali Mohammad.

Taapsee Pannu played the role of a lawyer and daughter-in-law of the family, well her performance is good but her role is not. Taapsee Pannu's character in the first half tries to find her place in the film but she didn't get it. However, she got the place in the second half but it looks like that she was not prepared for the responsibilities on her shoulder. All in all her performance is good but she needs much more to justify her role.

The lawyer Santosh Anand aka Ashutosh Rana is the lifeline of this film and why I am saying this because when the film loses its path that time only he was the person who was taking care of the film on his own shoulder. What we should say about Ashutosh Rana he is the master of his eyes and dialogue delivery. You can judge Santosh Anand for having fun in the serious film.

Other actors including Prateik Babbar, Rajat Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Neena Gupta, Prachee Shah Pandyaa and others have just nailed it through their performances. There is not a single actor in the film who has gone wrong with their performances. So performances wise the film is too good.

MUSIC

Prasad Shaste and Anurag Saikia gave the music in this film of Anubhav Sinha, although the film is too serious that without songs also this film has gone good but there are few songs that you will enjoy. First Thenge Se is a family party song same like Aanand L Rai films. Then other two songs Khudara and Piya Samaye are two different versions of Sufi songs to connect the film.

VERDICT

All in all, Anubhav Sinha made a film to end the hate and wrong perception against Muslims and he told his views that yes Muslim youngsters sometimes are going wrong but this not only their families responsibility but this is also our and us responsibility to get them back on the right path. Don't judge them always tries to find the right path for them. Even they are a victim of bad choices.
