Kesari: Salman Khan reveals why he back of his commitment with Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar film

In 2017, the Bollywood superstar announced his collaboration with filmmaker Karan Johar in which Akshay Kumar will star as the lead hero. This film was supposed to be directed by Anurag Singh on the subject of Battle of Saragarhi.

Karan Johar announced their collaboration while tweeting, "Supremely excited to coproduce with @BeingSalmanKhan #SKF on a film starring @akshaykumar directed by Anurag Singh...releasing 2018!"

Salman Khan also tweeted the same, "Joining hands on a project where @akshaykumar is the hero and will be co-produced by @karanjohar and #SKF."

Then there were the reports in 2017 that Salman Khan has opted out of the project due to some issues. However, later he came out with a tweet in which he cleared the airs that he is a part of the project. He tweeted, "Don't follow rumours. follow me . ek baar jo maine commitment kar di toh phir...... very much doing the film with @akshaykumar."

Well, in the last the reports of Salman Khan back out of the film turned true, when Dharma productions tweeted, "Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar proudly present 'Kesari' based on one of the bravest battles fought in India 'The Battle of Saragarhi' Directed by Anurag Singh and starring Akshay Kumar Releasing Holi 2019."

Now in a recent interview, Salman Khan told, "Karan Johar has his own production house and I have mine, he had come to me with this project a long back, but later he did all the things from casting to everything, so it will be fair to just add my name to the film."

Reports are that Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra may star opposite Akshay in this film that is supposed to release on Holi 2019.
