India Bans Tik Tok: Malaika Arora, Nia Sharma, Kushal Tandon, other celebs laud govt’s decision
In the wake of recent India-China border face-off in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, the government of India has taken a step to ban 59 Chinese apps being used in India. Including the 59 apps, we have famous and controversial app TikTok that is also being used by TV and Bollywood celebs such as, Jay Bhanushali, Jannat Zubair, Avneet Kaur, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Rashami Desai among others.
As soon as the news was announced many celebs including both TV and Bollywood took to their social media handle to laud the government’s decision. Malaika took to her Instagram story and wrote, “The best news I have heard in lockdown...finally we will not be subjected to people's ridiculous video.” While Naagin 4 actress Nia Sharma took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “Thank youu for saving our country. This Virus named Tik tok should never be allowed again!”

Whereas Rashami Desai took to her Instagram and dropped a video wherein she reminded that our soldiers go through so much just to protect us and their nation with no expectations in return. So now it's our turn to serve them as a responsible citizen.
Meanwhile, TikTok responded to the government’s decision and said that they have not shared any information of its users in India and with any foreign government including the Chinese government. TikTok complies with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law.
