Earlier in the day, following a series of tweets from a Twitter handle in Rhea Chakraborty’s father Indrajit Chakraborty’s name was making the rounds, a fact-checking web boomlive.in has proved that it’s fake news.
The phoney Twitter account appealed for justice to Rhea, who was taken into custody by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday in association with a drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
After her bail plea was turned down by a local court, the 28-year-old actor has been sent to 14-days judicial custody, which means she will be behind bars till 22nd September.
In an application for Rhea’s custody, the NCB has claimed that actor was an "active member" of a drugs syndicate and procured contrabands for the late actor. "Rhea has been arrested under sections 27A, 21, 22, 29 and 28 of NDPS," said K P S Malhotra, Deputy Director of NCB.
Numerous prespective surrounding the death of Sushant are being looked into by three federal agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The actor has been accused of abetment to suicide in connection with Sushant's death which the CBI is investigating, and a related money laundering case is being probed by the ED.
