Director Meghna Gulzar opens up on Raazi Sequel featuring Alia Bhatt
Director Meghna Gulzar's Raazi starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal was a surprising hit at the box office and it also became a turning point for Alia Bhatt's career. Not just for Alia Bhatt but it also helped director Meghna Gulzar and actor Vicky Kaushal to get one of the biggest hits of their career. The film did around 200 crores business all over the world.
With such an amazing response, reports were that the makers are planning to take forward the story of Sehmat Qazi (Alia Bhatt). Reports were even that Meghna Gulzar has started working the script for Raazi 2, however, now with the announcement of her next after Chhapaak, Meghna has clear all the air related to Raazi sequel and Sehmat's journey.
Pinkvilla quoted Meghna Gulzar by saying, "No, I think a sequel to the book is coming out, that would be the starting point for whatever has to begin (sequel) if it happens. Right now, I have other films in mind. For me, as a filmmaker, what we wrote in Raazi completed Sehmat’s journey."
Currently, Meghna Gulzar is working on the post-production work of Chhapaak that stars Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the leading roles. The film is inspired on the life of the acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The film is slated to release on 10th January 2020 and it has in locations like Delhi and Mumbai. Post Chhapaak, Meghna Gulzar will be focusing on her next directorial Sam, a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Raazi actor Vicky Kaushal will be playing a leading role in to it.
