It is one of the most special moment for any parent to see his child achieving the award of excellence and when it turns the other way round, it becomes even more special. The recent feeling was observed by our Queen Padmavati of Bollywood aka Deepika Padukone whose father and a popular badminton player, Prakash Padukone, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

It was surely a proud moment for the actress when her father went up to the stage to achieve the prestigious award presented to him by the vice-president of India, Venkaiah Naidu. Deepika, who was in news for the last few days due to her movie Padmaavat, that got released on January 25, 2018.

Prakash Padukone, received the Lifetime Achievement Award by BAI, in a grand event that took place in Delhi. The proud father was accompanied by his daughters Anisha and Deepika along with his wife. During the event, Deepika was seen getting emotional as her father got the award.

During the event, Prakash Padukone gave a speech in which he said, “It is a privilege for me to receive this lifetime achievement award in its inaugural year. I played badminton at a time when not many knew what the sport was all about. I am glad to have played a small part in what game has achieved today. I played purely for the love of the game without expecting anything in return. And to see how much I can challenge myself despite there being no facilities. If appropriate systems are put in place India can be on par with other leading badminton nations of the world. However, if we do not achieve this, it will not be due to lack of talent in the country.”

Meanwhile talking about the recent released movie, Padmaavat, starring Deepika, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the leading roles is doing great on the box office inspite of all the problems that the Rajput Karni Sena created for the film.
