Box office: Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho performs better than Shubh Mangal Savdhan
Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta starrer Baadshao released this week and has managed to collect good money on day one. The film opened with Rs. 12. 03 crore. Milan Luthria’s film received mixed reviews and it had decent occupancy of 25-30% on the first day.
In fact, it is said that the morning shows opened better than Ajay’s last film Shivaay. The film is made on a large budget of Rs. 80 crore and it released in 2800 screens in India and 442 screens in overseas. If the film sees growth in footfalls on weekend, then Ajay will have his first hit after two years. His last hit was Nishikant Kamath’s Drishyam.
Second release of this week was Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Savdhan. The film started on a slow note and has earned Rs. 2.71 crore on Friday. The film is directed by R. S. Prasanna and it is a remake of Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham directed by same director. The film has got positive reviews and it is said that due to good word of mouth, there is a possibility that it will do well on the weekend. Shubh Mangal Savdhan is made on a small budget of Rs. 25 crore and is being released in limited screens. It has got 1400 screens in India and 250 screens in overseas.
