Bhuj actor Ajay Devgn steps in father Veeru Devgan's shoes; directs combat scenes for Sanjay Dutt
Bollywood’s massy actor Ajay Devgn has added another feather in his cap by turning into action director for his upcoming film Bhuj: The Pride of India. As per reports, the original action director Peter Hein is not available due to Coronavirus crisis so in absence of him, director Abhishek Dudhaiya turned to Ajay for help as he is the son of celebrated action director Veeru Devgn and had seen his expertise.
On hearing the plight of director Ajay immediately gave the nod and soon he came up with two action scenes. As per Mid-Day reports, the actor has choreographed a hand-to-hand fight scene and another scene which features Sanjay Dutt and Sharad Kelkar fighting the baddies from the Pakistan army.
As per the source, producers Bhushan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh and Kumar Mangat Pathak had booked the Powai studio. They had also got the dates of the concerned actors, so to curb the wastage they all requested Ajay to adorn the cap of an action director. They all knew Ajay’s capability and his expertise in mounting a high-octane fight scene, so there was no other better option in the absence of Peter.
Meanwhile, talking about the film it is set in the 1971 Indo-Pak war wherein Ajay will essay the role of IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik, who reconstructed the IAF airbase in Bhuj with the help of 300 local women. Apart from Sanjay, Sharad and Ajay the film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk and Nora Fatehi.
