After Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Leela Bhansali approaches Hrithik Roshan for Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of those filmmakers who always treats his audience with magnum opus projects like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and others. After 2013 with Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bhansali has just given back to back blockbusters. Now the director is making Gangubai Kathaiwadi with Alia Bhatt and currently the film is in the discussions for its casting for the leading man.

Earlier there were the reports that Ajay Devgn has turned down the role opposite Alia Bhatt in Gangubai. Even reports were also that Ranbir Kapoor also has turned down the role. Now if believe to the reports, Bhansali has approached his Guzaarish actor Hrithik Roshan for the role.

According to a report of Filmfare, Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached Hrithik Roshan to play yesteryear don Haji Mastan in the film. The film is expected to go on floors in the first week of December and Bhansali wants to finalize the actor before the film goes on floors. However, there is no official announcement from Hrithik Roshan's side, has he said yes to Bhansali's film or not?

Interestingly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recently announced his next film after Gangubai Kathaiwadi. He will direct his magnum opus Baiju Bawra and if believe to the reports, Ranveer Singh is already finalized to play music maestro in the film. The film is scheduled to release on Diwali 2021, whether Gangubai Kathaiwadi will release on 11th September 2020.
