5 times when Bollywood tried hands in big-budget superhero films
Superhero films are extremely popular in Hollywood and we have many names when it comes to superhero in Hollywood films like Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Iron-man, and many others.
While Hollywood is known for his superhero films, the genre doesn't gain much appreciation when the films are made in Bollywood. But Bollywood has tried hands in superheroes films from time to time.
Here is a list of 5 films that were surely an experiment in Bollywood and sometimes it worked, while sometimes it tanked.
1. Ra. One
Shah Rukh Khan tried a hand in superhero genre as he launched a new superhero to the world. A superhero which had come out from a superhero game. Shah Rukh put his hefty money in the superhero film but the film didn't impress the audience.
2. Krrish
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan tried a new concept of introducing a new superhero in the market from his hit film Koi Mil Gaya. He took the franchise forward by introducing Krrish the superhero in the sequel. Now the Krrish franchise is already hit.
3. Mr. India
It would not be wrong to say that Mr. India was the biggest hit and first superhero film in Bollywood. When it came in 1987, it was a blockbuster at the box office.
4. Drona
Like father like son, Amitabh Bachchan tried two superhero films Toofan and Shahanshah both the films didn't work. Then Abhishek Bachchan tried to introduce superhero Drona and like his father, he also failed as the film turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
5. A Flying Jatt
Some may argue that it was the most underrated superhero film in Bollywood. Tiger Shroff, who is known for best martial art, became superhero Flying Jatt in Remo D'souza's film. The concept of the film was good but the audience didn't take the comical superhero seriously so it was a failed attempt of the makers.
