The climax of the film will make you cry and happy at the same moment.
DIRECTION
It looks like Umesh Shukla really knows the strong as well as the weak nerves of family relations and its values, and once again this time he has come up with a story of a father-son relation. His last film All is Well was about a family drama and before that hi film was against the godmen. Now, this film is totally an emotional journey that the director Umesh has pulled off brilliantly.
Really he has the heavy responsibility to work with two veteran actors who are the masters of their class. Umesh narrated the whole film and a beautiful story by just taking four to five actors in his film. We should appreciate Umesh's decision of going with family drama in this rush of adult and money making content.
PERFORMANCES
Amitabh Bachchan, the master of human emotions is really an actor that is an institution in himself. Actually, the actors of the new generation should learn from him that even in this age he can pull the attraction of the audience towards his work. Big B just has given one of finest performances in the current time. He has given all the elements of entertainment through happiness, emotions, comedy etc. This is another beautiful role of Amitabh like that in Piku, Bhaghban, Baabul and others.
Rishi Kapoor played the role of Babulal Vakharia who is the son of Amitabh Bachchan's character. He has given very much to the film and that was needed to make it interesting. His character from the start is dull but as the time pass by, it gets a race and happiness. Rishi Kapoor's character is the main centric character of the film and he has managed to grab the attention.
Jimit Trivedi has a side role but an interesting one in the film as he plays the role of a mediator between Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. Jimit has some very good comic scenes that are really needed in this emotional drama. We should appreciate Jimit for giving a brilliant performance in between two big actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor.
MUSIC
Well, music is something that will not give the perfect vibes as it is not even needed in it. There is one song, 'Bachche Ki Jaan' that you will get to hear but after that, there is no song that will stay with you.
VERDICT
102 Not Out is a very good emotional drama narrating the importance and values of a father, the film will give you some really emotional moments to cherish. If you love light comedy-drama with some meaningful message then 102 Not Out is a good film for the weekend.
