Woman gets 16 stitches on her face after dog attacked her; see disturbing images

A woman was brutally attacked by a dog after she stopped to show her affection towards it. She has shared very disturbing photos of her injuries on social media.

She has been scarred for life after being mauled by a dog.

Sam Lodge (53) hails from United Kingdom’s Grimsby, was going home on April 1 when she came across a woman walking a whippet-like dog.

Before bending down to stroke the dog, Sam Lodge also asked the woman if her dog was friendly or not. After the owner allowed her, she moved ahead to fuss the dog but ended up being savagely attacked in her face.

According to Grimsby Live reports, Sam was left with severe injuries on her face including cartilage exposed on her nose. To get recover, she will need several surgical procedures.

However, she had already had several operations on her face but she has been warned by the doctors that her face won’t become normal due to nerve damage.

As Sam is a dog lover so she doesn’t want the dog put down, but she hopes the owner can learn to put a muzzle on it or stop people from getting close to it.

Following an appeal by Humberside Police to help catch those responsible, Sam said: “I’d hate to see the dog put to sleep, I love dogs. I just want people to be more careful and tell people if their dog is not safe.

"If it was a little kid, there could have been much more damage - it clearly wasn't safe."

Sam revealed that doctors twister her nose to help the skin take to it. She had received 16 stitches on her nose and now she waiting for it to start healing. She has been told by doctors that “it could be 18 months before I get any feeling back in my head and I might never. I don't go out as much at the minute because it's painful for me to walk around in the wind.”

A Humberside Police official appealed for the owner of the dog to come forward. Also, asked others if anyone had witnessed the incident can also come forward and share the details of the incident on non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 16/43260/22.
