Train drivers stop running train, allow elephant to cross tracks in Bengal; video goes viral
Train drivers turned savior for the elephant who came on the railway track. The incident was captured on camera and now has been surfaced the Internet.
In the viral video, an elephant can be seen crossing a railway track in the forest region of North Bengal. After noticing the animal, loco pilots Uttam Barua and DD Kumar who were running the Alipur Duar-New Jalpaiguri Passenger train stopped the train to let the elephant cross the track.
As per the reports, the incident was held between the Nagrakota and Chalsa junction. The video was shared online by the Alipurduar Division of Northeast Frontier Railways on Twitter.
“Today morning at 8.30 hrs, #AlertCrew of 55726 Dn Sri Uttam Barua & D.D.Kumar suddenly noticed that a Wild Elephant was walking along the track at Km 71/7 betn NKB- CLD & stopped the train immediately with Emergency brake,” the tweet reads.

Meanwhile, the video has garnered over 10k views on the micro-blogging site. Netizens applauded the loco pilots for their actions and kindness that they showed towards the elephant.
