In a shocking and outlandish medical case has left doctors stunned in Lithuania where over a kilogram of nails, screws, and knives were found in a man’s stomach. The bizarre thing is that the man had been swallowing metallic objects after quitting alcohol.
According to Daily Mail, the man, whose identity has not been revealed, was admitted to a hospital in the Baltic port city of Klaipeda after severe pain in his abdomen.
When the doctor conducted an X-ray, they left shocked after seeing several pieces of metal (around 10 centimetres) inside his stomach.
Though foreign bodies found inside a human’s body are not uncommon, this case was unique.

Doctors also described this case as ‘unique’ because of the huge amount of metallic objects found in a human’s body.
However, the medical personnel managed to conduct the surgery and remove all the metallic objects after a three-hour operation.
According to surgeon Sarunas Dailidena, “During the three-hour operation with X-ray control, all foreign bodies, even the smallest ones, in the patient’s stomach were removed.”

Another head surgeon Algirdas Slepavicius, at Klaipeda Hospital, said, “We’ve never seen anything like it.”
After the surgery, the man is in a stable condition and recovering. He is also being given psychological assistance at the hospital.
