Mumbai: Woman uses Ratan Tata’s number plate on her car for a bizarre reason

A complaint was filed against a woman who used a fake vehicle number plate. According to news reports, the car had been using a number owned by industrialist Ratan Tata.

The reason behind the woman used Ratan Tata’s car number due to numerological reasons.

The incident came to light when a complaint about a driver using a fake vehicle number plate was lodged at Worli headquarters. After receiving the complaint, the Mumbai traffic police launched an investigation and found that the car had been using Ratan Tata’s car number plate, for numerological reasons.

During the probe, police started scanning the CCTV footage of places where the vehicle with a fake number plate had flouted traffic rules, mid-day.com reported.

The owner of the car was identified as M/s Narendra Forwarders Pvt Ltd, whose director was identified as Gitanjali Shah.

When police asked her why she was using a fake number plate, then she told that she did it due to numerology.

She has a car with number 1110. Therefore, she decided to drop the zero and make it to 111 to take benefit of the numerology. She also said that the number was her ‘lucky number’. Because of this act of Shah, e-challans were being sent to Tata for violating Traffic rules.

Meanwhile, she has been booked under section 420 (Cheating) and 465 (punishment for forgery) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, mid-day.com report said.

According to a traffic police officer, they started an investigation after receiving the complaint that fake number plates were being used. A complaint was also lodged at the Matunga police station.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway.
